- Prepare a checklist to do market research and following trends.
- Note down the customer requirements keep it as priority-1, bugs ad priority-2, trends and priority-3 and research as priority-4
- Always map the activities to the product life cycle so that to do list will be much more clear.
- Writing features or preparing requirements is an unbiased activity so keep preparing them without waiting to get help from someone
- Keep in touch with architect and engineering lead every day.
- Prepare WHY and HOW for the features Why? is the business scenarios which demands this features to be integrated and How? the functional flow which states how the feature look like.
- Never get influenced by engineering team to remove any feature unless it doesn’t have any demand or customer has no requirement.
- Product manager is the one who should get the business done internally while sales person get the business externally. Internal business means get the product developed with the teams so be a business person.
- Prepare the product plan while taking help from engineering team to prepare overall project plan and take help from marketing team to prepare marketing pitch.
- Please grooming meeting for at least two times in a sprint for the next sprint.
- Monitor JIRA to follow the status of the features, ask the team to update them regularly.
- Always be in the shoos of customer and wear a cap of product manager while taking care of any product.
- Roadmap and vision are not separate. Roadmap is part of the vision so design the roadmap in such a way to fulfill the vision
- The second architect for the product is UX designer. Be in sync to drive the features through UX.
- Spend a good amount of time with UX/UI designer and speak the creative language with him/her.
- Never miss to be part of UAT (User acceptance test).
- Product Manager/Owner is the best person to review test plan and test scenarios.
- Be the reviewer of product planning meeting.
- Be the bridge between engineering, product, marketing, administration and customers.
- Always set the expectation clear with all the teams.
- Own the product in such a way to keep the product alive.
- Own the the customer and their expectation.
- Keep learning about domain and its trends to design competitive features.
- Master the product in such a way to no-one else can be the expert than you.
- New enhancements can be planned and developed from the stage of growth a part from a regular plan.
- Own the product, loyal to customer, professional for internal teams, be the first customer, be a great researcher, be a business man, and finally be a great CEO of the product.
